Complementary Methods - The AGL
Advantage
Associated Geosciences Ltd. specializes in the acquisition,
processing and interpretation of near-surface geophysical
data. Converse to the approach of many organizations which
rely on a single geophysical method or a small selection of
methods, AGL draws from a range of available tools with the
necessary experience to determine those most suitable for the
survey objectives. AGL's personnel are among the world's most
experienced practitioners of shallow seismic refraction and
ground penetrating radar (GPR). In addition, AGL has
considerable experience with most types of geophysical data.
AGL's primary geophysical methods include:
Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR)
· High Frequency
· Low Frequency
· Borehole
Seismic Methods
· Refraction
· Reflection
· Borehole
· In-Seam
Electromagnetic Methods
· Frequency Domain (FEM)
· Time Domain Sounding (TDEM)
· Buried Metal Detectors (EM61)
· Electrical Imaging
(DC Resistivity)
· Magnetometrics
· Spontaneous (Self)
Potential
· Controlled-Source Audio-Frequency
Magneto-Tellurics (CSAMT)
· Gravimetrics
AGL utilizes a combination of complementary methods to
achieve the most effective results. In many instances, the
results of multiple geophysical methods yield more information
than from individual methods alone. A common example of this
is bedrock profiling, where GPR may show the detailed
transition from overburden to a weathered bedrock, whereas
refraction seismic may yield the level and rippability of
competent bedrock.
